ABOUT US AND EDSTAR
Alex and Rowland retired recently after enjoying professional careers of more than 40 years each. Here we are on the obligatory retirement cruise adventure in the Aegean, in November 2011 aboard Seabourn Odyssey. The photo was taken as we approached Kotor, Montenegro at sunrise, around 6:00 a.m.
The cruise was the beginning of our new pursuit of "meaningful enjoyment", otherwise known as "liming" (see Home page for definition). We are inspired by the following quote from the Canadian actor Christopher Plummer, on the eve of winning the 2012 Oscar for best supporting actor, thus becoming the oldest Oscar winner ever, at age 82:
It is not so much the fear of dying that disturbs me, but the sudden awareness that I have just begun to live.

EDSTAR
EDSTAR originated as an acronym of our first names and those of our two sons: EDward, STewart, Alex and Rowland.
EDSTAR will be the name of our next boat - see Our Boat.
